The Clove Hitch is one of the most widely used knots to fasten a rope to a post or other objects, and can be tied at any point in the rope. It is most effective for items that have constant pressure against them, such as objects that hang vertically. It's also great for clotheslines and various camp activities. HOW TO TIE: 1. Pass the end of a rope around a pole. 2. Continue over the standing end and wrap around the pole a second time. 3. Thread the end under itself and pull tight to form a clove hitch knot.
